Ron Baba’s practice focuses on commercial law including all areas of creditor security, corporate law excepting only for public corporations, taxation planning and reorganizations, general real estate, and wills and estates. He has represented a wide range of corporations ranging from small, one man firms to corporations with annual revenues in excess of 70 million dollars. He has acted as lead counsel for a number of structured private equity transactions ranging in investments of up to 250 million dollars. He presently represents over 400 private corporations with emphasis in the petroleum production, petroleum service, oil transloading, transportation, agriculture, and technology areas. He has and does represent a wide range of financial institutions dealing with structured commercial financing.

Ron Baba has been in practice for over 40 years. As well as being a King’s Counsel since February of 2000, he is presently a member of both the Law Society of Alberta and the Law Society of Saskatchewan. Although based in Medicine Hat, his practice takes him throughout both Alberta and Saskatchewan.

At present Ron Baba practices as a senior solicitor within the Niblock & Company commercial team. Our commercial team strives to assure that each client will receive continuous quality service without interruption due to any particular solicitor’s practice load or time away from the office. Our goal is to assure that each solicitor within the team will have a personal connection to, and an understanding of, every client’s business needs. We recognize that your business needs must not depend solely upon any one person.

Ron is currently supported by exceptional legal assistants. Ron’s motto is to “always hire someone smarter than yourself. Their service will make the client happy and you look good”. He has a very experienced and dedicated staff to “make him look good”! The average legal experience of a legal assistant in our office is approximately 10+ years.

Community Involvement

Ron was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. He grew up and attained his early education in Swift Current. Ron attended University in the City of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He is married to his wife Ellen, of over 50 years, and together they raised 3 children in the community.
